To the left center CHO TOKKYU (very, very super quality) And down the middle right again SAIKOKYUHIN Another very hard and deep strata stone with great sharpening qualities. This stone is most easily used with a light paste made by using a diamond plate with water on the top surface. With this paste the black iron from the blade forms in clear water showing not only the abrasive power of the stone but also the hardness of the binder. This type of stone will stay flat for a long time during a sharpening session. The rich kawa skin on the back reflects that of the Nakayama mine. |
